a few things to know about me…

1950’s. Born near New Orleans, I’m still attracted to the fecundity of moisture arising from the earth, the music of spontaneous creativity blossoming around me. Family moved to Jersey shore, both blessed by the tides of nature and cursed by the pollution of petroleum plants.

1964-67. Learned organic gardening from my parents. Spent most of my time outdoors in the woods, on the water, the garden, walking the beaches alone in the fall. 

1967-71. “Sent away” to prep school, Taft.  Frightening Harry Potter-like experience. Learned what it means to work hard. 

1970. Published my first book in prep school, “In Contact Communication”. Based upon the correspondence of two Yale classmates in the late 1800’s, Sherman Thatcher & Horace Taft.

1970. Built a harpsichord as an independent study project my last year in high school.

1969-1971. Composing music and giving classical concerts. My relationship with music started around the age of 5, when I asked my parents for a piano. My babysitter was a woman with curled, arthritic fingers who had performed ragtime on the radio when she was younger. So I was blessed with the lineage of ragtime and my father’s love of the blues. I grew up with the sounds of jazz and opera filling the house.

1971-72. A year off between highschool and college traveling Europe. Was a caretaker “nanny” and music teacher in London. Went to a lot of concerts & theatre. Worked on a riverboat/barge in France, Belgium and Holland. 

1971-76. Returned to the US, went to college at Brown & RISD, graduated with an art degree. Worked at a research & design institute building prototypes for vertical axis windmills, solar water heaters, to retrofit industrial buildings in Providence RI. 

1976. Moved to SF and lived there in the bay area for 30 years. Was immersed in a wave of cultural revolution and creativity. 

1977. A lucid dream of the earth shifting on its axis put me on a spiritual path. Joined a Gurjieff-Ouspensky Fourth Way school, called Fellowship or Friends. Stayed with that cult for 5 years and learned a lot.

1977-79.  Worked as a designer & craftsman making models of buildings & industrial prototypes.I built such things as a model of the Hubble Telescope (later launched in 1991), a model of the Golden Gate bridge that was cast in gold, notable SF  buildings, underwater research vehicles and designing toy robots.

1979-83. Lucasfilm. Worked at ILM (Industrial, Light & Magic, part of Lucasfirm) as a model-maker. Worked on films Empire Strikes Back & Return on the Jedi.

Retired from the film business and went to work for myself.

1982. Joined a group studying the Michael Teaching (a channeled system), met the woman, JP, who I would later marry. Began learning how to effectively share my channeling skills.

1983-1995. Co-created the Michael Educational Foundation. Worked tirelessly as a spiritual guide, retreat & group leader, writer, teacher, mentor. Published ‘Michael: The Basic Teachings’, 1985 with co-authors.

1985-1991.  Studied many somatic healing & bodywork methods. Certified body-mind therapist through the Hendrick’s Institute.* Water rebirthing. Regression and trauma release techniques. CMT, McKinnon Inst, 1991. During that time and for another decade worked with individuals as a professional channel, spiritual guide, somatic healer.

1982-1994 and onwards. Raised two stepdaughters, one son, and co-parented an extended family that included 3 other children born through sperm donation. 

1991. Dealt with a huge legal financial blow that taught me a lot about institutional powers, deep state, and how to cope with intense stress while raising young children.

1982-90’s. My first mdma experience guided by a therapist, many ayahuasca journeys, spirit journeys with intimate friends, discovering more about my true nature.

1992. Landscape architecture. Constructed an amazing english-style rose garden with gazebos, decks, hot tub, etc.

1995-97. Further experiments in polyamory. Living with female partner and bfriend (disaster). Lots of internal growth.

1997.  One of my guides recommended I move away from channeling other beings to focus on embodying my own essence and higher self. Dived into satsang tradition through the Ramana Maharshi and Papaji lineages. Hosted and met many self-realization teachers and friends.

1997. Leaving Michael Teachings, moving from counseling people to working with plants and animals! Starting pro landscape biz. Raising middle school kids. Lots of camping trips to Yuba River with the children. Had an RV parked permanently on beach in Santa Cruz, would go there weekends to tell story off grid. Taking shrooms. New relationships. 

1998-2003. With my partner nurtured a bay area garden, full of fruit trees, vegies, flowers. Kids in Waldorf school.

2003-2008. Moved to Kailua, HI. Started a landscape business building luxury water features, especially full sized fountains using copper, bamboo, stone & stained glass.

2008. Moved back to SF and resumed tantric training. Met Phillipe.

2008-10. Extensive traveling with Phillipe while we created MassageintoBliss, what quickly became our tantric service and practice.

2008 to present….Studied in depth Human Design that became a basis for our relationship. 

2010. Studying w Richard Rudd, Gene Keys

2010-12. Two year road trip cross country looking for a new place to land and a new tribe.

2011-2012. Shamanic training program with Power Path.*

2012. Moved to Asheville.

2015. Purchased the property that became The Cauldron.  Developed, nurtured & received the community that has become our Asheville ground of being.
